PHSE

At St. Bridget’s Primary School, we provide our children with a Personal, Social and Health education (PSHE) which enables them to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. Our children are taught how to keep themselves safe as well as how to become healthy and responsible members of society, preparing them to make the most of life and work. We believe that a strong PSHE education is important to help our children develop into well-rounded members of society, who can make a positive contribution to their local community as well as nationally and on a global scale. Our aim is prepare them for life and work in the modern world.

When taught well, PSHE education also helps children to achieve their academic potential.

Our PSHE curriculum is strongly tied to our RSE, relationships and health education. Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education (SMSC) is promoted through the teaching of PSHE.

The vision for children, staff and others linked to our school is to always ‘let our light shine’ in every aspect of school life.

Our focus in PSHE is to ensure that children know how to keep themselves and others safe, as well as knowing who their trusted adults are if they find themselves in need. We want them to develop the skills and attributes needed to face challenges out in the world as they go into adulthood.

We teach our children about diversity, self-esteem, resilience, empathy and above all, being kind!

Our RSE curriculum progresses throughout the school and is in line with the latest DFE guidlines.
