St Bridget's Church
St Bridget's Church is located in the parish of Moresby. It is built next to the Roman fort of Gabrosentum overlooking the Solway Firth. Visitors are guaranteed a warm West Cumberland welcome.
St Bridget’s is a Grade 2 listed building and was built in 1822. It replaced a mid-12th century medieval church of which the chancel arch remains in the church grounds. Some artefacts from that earlier church can be found inside the current building.
The church has many interesting features including stained glass windows all made by the same company, Heaton, Butler & Bayne (London). A brand new set of 8 bells were installed in the tower in 2018 and are rung for services, weddings and funerals.

Our Partnership with the Church
Our school do many wonderful activities with the church. We hold our Harvest Festival, Carol Concert and Leavers Assembly in the church, but also visit at other times. Some examples include visiting the knitted bible exhibition to see scenes from different parts of the bible. Also, touring the church and churchyard and bell ringing, as part of 80 years since VE day. We have been involved in the Christmas Tree Festival at the church, creating our own tree and the children enjoyed performing carols and switching on of the Christmas lights. At other times we have visited Sunday services and we love to visit and sing for the Friday Group.
